D - Dry skin brushing

D for dry skin brushing. I see lots of people whose lymphatic system is a little sluggish and I have a quick test for this. The lymphatic system protects us from infection and disease. It is part of the body’s immune system but it is also the body’s cleaning system absorbing excess fluids, fats and toxins and clearing them out. When is becomes clogged there can be pain, inflammation, fatigue, infection, digestive disorders and enlarged lymph glands. The system runs under the skin all round the body but doesn’t have a pump, like the heart, so it is up to us to keep it running smoothly and efficiently. One way is dry skin brushing. I have this little brush and before a shower you brush up the body from the feet towards the heart. Use upward strokes, not scrubbing, and when you meet your heart then stroke downwards. The biggest lymphatic drainage points are under your arms so even aim for these up and then down.

Other ways to keep the lymphatic system health include exercise, saunas, hot and cold showers or cold water swimming and drinking plenty of water.
